Please consider serving on one of our committees – it’s a great way to share your skills, meet new people dealing with the same issues you are and help determine the direction of the Wake County Chapter. Here are some of the areas we are looking for volunteers in:
Chapter Community: Outreach to new families in the Wake County Chapter and volunteer recruitment. If you are new to Wake County, please help us plug you in by sending us an email.
Education: Develop and conduct monthly topical Chapter meetings (Sept-May) to help our families learn and receive support from one another. Contact the Education Committee at Ed Committee Email.
Events: Larger social events which the Chapter hosts or co-hosts with other groups throughout the year. Examples are: Trunk or Treat, Holiday Party, Teacher Appreciation Dinner, Spring Open House for Special Education, as well as other possible events.
Fundraising: Events TBD.
Social: Mom’s Night Out, Dad’s Social Group, Grandparents Support Group Young/Newly Diagnosed Social Outings, Elementary/Middle School (7-12ish) Playgroup, Sibling Support Groups
Special Projects/Grants: projects our chapter sponsors
