After three glorious years, I’m selling my 2012 Ford F250 XL and Capri Retreat camper, along with LOTS of extras. This truck and camper are turnkey ready for year-round, four-season, off-grid living in the wilderness. They’ve served me (very) well, but I’m ready for a change.

Right now I’m only selling the truck/camper as a combination. It took a fair bit of work to find the right truck and get it set up for this camper. It’d be a shame to break them up. Of course, everything has its price. Make me an outrageous offer I can’t refuse, and maybe I won’t refuse it.

THE TRUCK

This is a work truck, not a show truck. In its previous life, it was a fleet maintained Department of Fish and Wildlife truck. There’s no computer screens, lift kits or fancy wheels. She’s got scratches on the outside, and some surface (just surface) rust. But she’s a Super Duty, and is dependable af. She’ll get you there, inspiring confidence along the way. The 4WD works great. The AC blows cold. She’s got at least another 100k miles in her.

Although my camper is technically compatible with a ½ ton truck, I chose to get a ¾ ton and I’m glad I did. I have no hesitation on forest service roads, long and steep mountain passes or deep snow. This truck is a mean motherfu$%&r.

TRUCK FUNK
- The ABS light is on. It’s for the stupid “brake fluid level sensor” and is a well known Ford snafu in this model truck. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the brakes.
- Occasionally the check engine light comes on for the downstream O2 sensor, usually when I buy cheap gas. It goes away when I fill up with a tank of Chevron, so I haven’t bothered “fixing” it. Again, there’s nothing wrong with the truck, it’s just a stupid sensor.
- As mentioned, she’s fugly. But who buys a truck because it looks pretty?

THE CAMPER

The camper is a 2018 Capri Retreat. I’m (kind of) the third owner, but it was practically new when I bought it. I was the first person to cook a meal in it. It has everything I want in a camper and nothing more. Although she’s not technically a 4-season camper, I’ve made modifications and lived in her comfortably year-round in extreme environments. She’s dry, comfortable and dependable.

CAMPER SPECS

- 4 gallon propane hot-water tank

- The benefit of three years worth of livability improvements
- Exterior vent cover (keeps rain and snow out)

I’m asking $32,500 for the truck, camper and the thousands of dollars worth of extras. Again, I’m not interested in selling the pieces individually.

Buy this camper today and hit the road tomorrow. That’s what I’ve been doing for the last three years and it’s been great.
