Woodbine horses to watch 2/15:

THAVAGE BOY (9th) - that was a tough first over trip last week.
ONE MORE DRINK (7th)
- also had a very tough first over trip

AS TUFF AS NAILS (11th) - I've been waiting for him to race back - had no chance at all last out when boxed and shuffled back. He was a tough first over the race before that. The only problem tonight is that he faces a very sharp horse in Zander Massimo.

I'm not sure of the reference to TVG and 2/1 (12/1? ML) but here's what caught my attention.

He's a 4 yr old who's been mostly going against tougher pacers in late closing series, the Clyde hurt and Exit 16. The one pp line in an overnight was this same class on Jan 29 and that's where he put up that 26-4 FQT closing from the 9 hole, missing only by 3 lengths.

He has the best LTM (except for #4's 1:51-2 CNL) and is showing improving form (last race he tried to keep up in a 1:50-4 race, the fastest he's gone).

The foes he faces tonight are nowhere near as strong, Trackmaster has this field rated at 84. The biggest negatives are The driver, 9% wins 55 starts, and the 8 hole, doesn't show gate speed but not many in here do, (Maybe the 3 but he's been off too long to try the front end?). 4 yr olds can sometimes surprise with new found talent and show speed if the situation allows.

So that makes him a good longshot IMHO

I download the data files for all tracks from Trackmaster each day and then use a homemade computer program to search the cards for certain types of races and create an 'Odds Line' for the entries. It then generates a playlist file which I upload to my YouBet account for wagering. (I have to use other ADWs for Mea, Pcd, Chs, Btv and Rock, and bet them manually). For my picks that I post here at PACE, I pull out the races where the Pick1 is not in the top 3 of Morning Lines.
If I'm pressed for time, I'll post them here as "Raw Computer Picks" but I prefer to look them up in the race program and do some old fashioned handicapping to strike out the silly ones or an obvious bad Morning Line on a favorite, and make a comment on why I like the pick.
