This Instant Pot Apple Cider is the PERFECT drink for all of your holiday celebrations. The best part is, it is all made in the Instant Pot which makes everything so much easier!
First you want to place the cut apples, orange, and cranberries into the pot of your Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.
Add cinnamon sticks, sugar and whole cloves on top and pour enough water to cover the fruit. (If you have a steamer basket, place your steam basked in first, then add everything else).
Place the lid on your Instant Pot. Make sure your knob is turned to manual. Push the manual button or the pressure cook button and cook on high pressure for 15 minutes.
You can let it release on its own, or you can do a quick release. Mash the fruit with a potato masher to release the juices.
If you didn’t use a strainer, carefully strain the solids from the liquids using a fine mesh sieve and discard the solids. If you are using a strainer, just lift it out and drain out the juice.
Store the cider in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.

Can You use something else other than sugar?
Trying to eat a little healthier for the holidays? You can easily substitute it for stevia, agave, syrup, coconut sugar, and honey. You can really add the sweetener or your choice.
When it is done pressure cooking, you can slowly add more of you sweetener if you need to.
Can I change the recipe if I don’t like some ingredients?
Yes of course you can! The good thing about this recipe is that you can add or subtract any ingredients you want. Don’t like oranges? Leave them out. Allergic to cranberries? You don’t have to add them.

I see sugar listed in the ingredients but there's no mention of it in the instructions. Do I add it in the pot with all the other ingredients?
-
Lani says:
It was on the intro page. It’s 1/2 a cup of sugar.

Noah says:
Ive made apple cider before, the traditional way. I mostly make it to brine my pork or chicken before BBQing. However on the occasion that I make a cider fir sipping or drinking, i will add some pineapple, vanilla extract, and lemon. Right now im trying out some sipping cider in our new instant pot.

How can you make this without an instant pot?

You could make it in the slow cooker too. Here is a slow cooker recipe that we have on our website that you might like using apples. It's amazing. https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/homemade-apple-cider/

HeatherM says:
Do you peel the oranges? I know the orange peel can add flavor but the pith might be bitter. Can see it working both ways.
-
Momma Cyd says:
We did not peel the oranges.
