We'll be going up to Nags Head tomorrow. Every time that we have been there, I've had my family go to Sam and Omie's. I just love the nostalgia of it. We're thinking about doing something different this time. Do you have any favorite spots for lunch in Nags Head or nearby?? TIA |

Depending on how many "we" are I'd suggest Food Dudes Kitchen. Technically Kill Devil Hills, but just over the line on the beach road. Fantastic. They have limited seating though. Tortugas Lie is also good and has more space. Then there's always Fish Heads on the Outer Banks Pier. Probably the best beachy atmosphere there is down there and the food is OK. There's nothing special about the food IMO, but if the weather's nice it's the best spot to grab a bite and have some beers on the beach. Fish Heads gets pretty busy. |

If you like nostalgia try The Black Pelican in Kitty on the beach road at mp 4. The building used to be oceanfront and was the boat house for the life saving station there, it is also on the west side of the road now too. The boat house is where the Kitty Hawk telegraph office was and why they say the Wrights flew at Kitty Hawk - that is the telegraph office location, not where they flew, but KDH was not a town back then. |

Consider Woo Casa in Nags Head just north of Grits Grill, Fresh Market, etc, in the same shopping center. Lunch only, closed Sunday and Monday. |

If you want something laid-back....Country Deli for sandwiches and salads. On KDH bypass at Lake street. Near Pigmans and Harris Teeter. It's good, really good. |

If I was heading that way for lunch, I would go a bit early and try and find a place to park for Fish heads at the pier to extend out my "beach" time. We've been there a handful of times only during happy hour starting in late afternoon and the parking is terrible. Maybe it would be better for lunch. The food is okay, but the atmosphere cannot be beat. Best views and so beachy. We never really go for the food, but the atmosphere meeting friends and such. There used to be (maybe they still have it) a deal on shrimp during happy hour that we would get. Perhaps they have a decent ala carte menu for lunch. |

Miller's Waterfront! If your group is not too large, they have an upstairs bar called The Waterfront with great views of the sound. |

I'd go to Blue Moon on the Bypass in NH. Great food and fun outdoor area to play corn hole or relax. Outdoor and indoor seating, depending on what you are looking for. |

Stop mentioning O'Neals. Lunch is never good, you dont want to make the drive over there! There are always a lot of the local workers eating there when I go. Other than having little choice besides fried food, I love going there, especially for the price. Also it's great for getting fresh fish to take home. I'm assuming you are serious and not being sarcastic to keep the tourist numbers down. |
