NBA 2k23 My Career mode
NBA 2k23 Review: The MyCareer mode in NBA 2K23 will go right to the point: You are picked and assigned to the NBA franchise of your choice, and your professional career starts.
There’s no collegiate prologue to NBA 2K23, no up-from-nothing story dating back to high school, as though both sports series this year are responding to long-standing complaints about sweating out tutorial-level games to get picked by the same lousy team.
If athletes begin to play well and accomplish well in their commercial endeavors, they may begin to see fans wearing their jerseys and embracing them rather than the initial disappointment. Some famous players will also appear in MyCAREER in NBA 2K23 to give advice and mentorship.
NBA 2k23 Gameplay

We looked at how virtual games played out compared to the real-life NBA to see how we might add more realism to our game, and it was evident that we wanted to give more love to slashers who liked to finish near the rim. Jordan Challenges Return
NBA 2k23 Review: Those who were fortunate enough to play 2K11 (on Nintendo Wii, don’t ask) may recall the 10 Jordan Challenges, which were among the most difficult offline games in the 2K franchise.

NBA 2k23 Cover Athletes
Devin Booker
NBA 2K has revealed that Devin Booker will be the cover athlete for NBA 2K23 standard editions on all platforms. The Phoenix Suns shooting guard has three NBA All-Star appearances and was named to the 2021-22 Kia All-NBA First Team. His Phoenix Suns are expected to be one of the favorites to win the NBA Championship next season.
Michael Jordan
The number ’23’ is obviously connected with just one individual, ‘His Airness’ Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan will return as the cover athlete for two special versions of NBA 2K23, the 24th installment of NBA 2K. No one personifies this year’s marketing theme of ‘Answer the Call’ more than Michael Jordan, who will feature on the covers of both the NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and the ultra-premium NBA 2K23 Championship Edition.
NBA 2k23 New Pro Stick Combos
This year, NBA 2K23 will give the Pro Stick greater strength and control, with loads of new motions like double throws and switchbacks that mirror the footwork and ball handling techniques they offer.
This features the inclusion of a new rim hang control, which enables physics-based realistic rim hangs on newer consoles. Combo motions appear to be a significant focus this year, influencing the likes of hop-step, euro-step, and cradle layups, as well as providing more options while dribbling.
NBA 2k23 Adrenaline Boosts
Dribbling in NBA 2K23 will be significantly more controllable thanks to new features such as Adrenaline Boost. This would penalize players for overdribbling and attempting to do too much with the ball in terms of dribble maneuvers, which has been a major issue for the series in online play.
Adrenaline Boosts appear as three bars beneath the stamina meter, each of which resets each possession. If you opt for an explosive sprint launch or a hard go, these boosters will be depleted.
Once your three boosts are depleted, your speed and acceleration are significantly decreased for the remainder of the possession.
NBA 2k23 Shooting Attributes
NBA 2k23 Review: When it came to altering the on-court action, improving shooting was a recurrent theme. Open shots vs. disputed shots should be more evenly balanced.
Currently, open shots are being taken at an alarmingly high rate, which is fine. But, if such is the case, challenged shots should be penalized more severely. Guys are now doing Base 3, Set Shot 25, and Base 98, and these jump shots are lightning-quick.
Contests do not register correctly on such bases. Shot competitions must be more robust in order to properly punish taking terrible shots vs taking successful ones. If you make one more patch for NBA 2K22, please include a buff to shooting competitions on the perimeter and immediately under the rim.
NBA 2k23 New Shots
The idea behind this feature is to allow players to choose whether they want their perfect shot release point to be early near takeoff or late closer to the wrist flick.
Twenty different Shot Meters will eventually be available, but the other 15 options will be unlocked through Seasons as the year progresses. Those unlockables will very certainly be linked to MyCAREER, although 2K has yet to provide information regarding the year’s first Season and awards.
Shot Speed – The speed with which the shot reaches its appropriate release point.
Release Height – The height at which the shot is launched.
Defensive Immunity – The shot’s effectiveness in defensive battles.
Timing Impact – Modifies shot windows to reward good timing while penalizing bad timing.
NBA 2k23 Offensive and Defensive Improvements
NBA 2K23 will also have several defensive enhancements, some of which may involve modifications to defensive AI.
To begin, the on-ball defense will now include three zones in which defenders can shade opponents. If ball handlers attempt to assault a channel that has been sufficiently crowded by defenders, they will be cut off, fumble the ball, or lose the ball totally.
This should be a welcome tweak to assist players in dealing with speedy ball handlers in online play while also limiting cheese alternatives. Furthermore, NBA 2K23 will have various changes to blocking and steals/strips.
Things have been more realistically balanced in the blocking department, restricting which players can pull off jaw-dropping blocks, enhancing shot challenges from late fly-by block attempts, and providing better ball protection for players based on ratings and judgments.
NBA 2k23 Player Builder Improvements
NBA 2k23 Review: 2K Games and developer Visual Concepts have already revealed one key modification for this year’s NBA 2K entry’s MyPlayer Builder.
Instead of being connected to a single save file, animation purchases will be account-bound. As a result, gamers will be able to set animations to several MyPlayer characters. Some NBA 2K fans, though, still want more from the system, particularly in terms of the in-game attribute breakdown.
NBA 2k23 Player Rating and New Badge System
The ratings of NBA 2K23 have been on most people’s thoughts in recent weeks, but we also know that 2K has yet to make any official announcements. Power forwards and centers are very regularly seen on the lower block in NBA 2K23.
Badges are classified as Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, or Defense/Rebounding. There have been no modifications to the NBA 2K23 Badges. We’re implementing a tiered badge system. The goal of this adjustment was to motivate players to make difficult decisions when developing badge recipes, to make loadouts more important as a feature, and to improve the overall balance of the badge game.
NBA 2k23 Multiplayer
NBA 2k23 Review: EA began testing cross-play within the FIFA 22 PS5 and Xbox Series X editions in May, using Online Friendlies and Online Seasons. Soon after, it was confirmed that FIFA 23 and NHL 23 will feature cross-play. But EA doesn’t produce basketball games, and there’s no indication that any planned patch for NBA 2K23 would have similar technology.
However, it’s something Visual Concepts will have to think about in the future if EA’s competing games are a success. Cross-play is more probable in NBA 2K24 than in NBA 2K23.
NBA 2k23 Graphics and Visuals
Visual Concepts prioritized two areas of attention for NBA 2K23. The first is a set of AI enhancements and redesigned controls that make each player construct seem more realistic. The second is improved accessibility throughout the game that you can play the game with just two buttons.
That hasn’t changed in the whole time I’ve been with the firm, and that’s a long time. This results in a redesigned shot feedback indication that only informs you how well your shot timing was after the ball enters or misses the hoop.
Team takeover seems less arcade-y, and jump shot animations have been reworked to be much more aesthetically beautiful.
NBA 2k23 Release date and Platforms
NBA 2K23 has been announced to be released on September 9th, 2022, and is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
