Frequently Asked Questions

What beef is good for pulled beef?

Boneless beef chuck roast is the best cut of beef for this recipe. Although tougher meat, it locks in lots of flavor, and becomes beautifully easy to shred after slow cooking for several hours.

Is Bloody Mary Crockpot Shredded Beef spicy?

There is a deep peppery taste to the meat from the Bloody Mary Mix. Yet the tomato and fattiness of the beef balance the flavors so it’s not too spicy.

How long does shredded beef last in the fridge?

Cool completely and store in the refrigerator for up to 5-6 days in an airtight container.

Can you freeze pulled beef after cooking?

Absolutely! Once the meat is cool, transfer it to an airtight plastic zipper bag and keep it in the freezer for up to 3 months.

Can I make shredded beef in the Instant Pot or Pressure Cooker?

You can pressure cook this recipe! Place all ingredients in a large electric pressure cooker, and set on Pressure Cook High for 30 minutes. Then perform a “natural release” for at least 20 minutes. Shred the beef and serve.
