The 42 best omakases in Las Vegas (2024)

The Golden Nugget is a prestigious and historic casino located in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. With its wide variety of table games and slots, as well as its poker room, it's one of the most popular destinations in Sin City.

What a great hotel!! Super immaculately clean room, service, especially front desk check lady, Dee! She made the very start of my stay amazing just with her kindness, humor and great service. Way bigger hotel than I thought it was, great food options, huge casino floor, pretty loose slots. Definitely need to come back when the pool is open, it looks beautiful. Shark tank was awesome!Highly recommended

Didn't stay here but had the buffet. The bill was only 23 for brunch which was a great price including drinks. The staff was extremely attentive and made sure everyone remembered to wear masks. It was very clean and they kept the food fresh and hot. The omelette bar was great and carving station was good also. There aren't any crab legs but I didn't miss it because all the food tasted great. I must say, nothing tasted like buffet food and I really didn't expect that. Could have had more selections as other larger buffet but this hotel is older and small. This was a Pleasant surprise. I will definitely be back

Good hotel. Rooms are large, and there is a good pool. However, service leaves a lot to be desired. They leave you on hold for hours when you're making reservations, parking is limited (The auxiliary parking for vehicles taller than 7 ft. took 45 minutes to get in), and the pool closes way too early. However, it has great access to Fremont Street and a great view.

Smells like smoke inside and tight in the casino area. However, it is very clean and plenty of staff to make sure you have drinks or whatever you want. Lots of good food choices and restaurants. The pools are awesome, so bring your suit get ready for a good time there

The room was nice and clean. We were on the 21st floor away from Fremont Street so it was overall quieter. Nice views of Vegas. Bed was comfortable. Shower and towels were very nice. Staff were nice and professional. Check in was a bit slow as lots of people checking in.The most NEGATIVE thing was about refreshing the room. It was 3 days before the room was refreshed. It seems you have to make appointments to have the room refreshed and how often. This was not told to me at check in. After calling housekeeping on the 3 day that I wanted DAILY service, on the 4th day it wasn't done. Another call was made and our room was not on the schedule. You have to call each day to tell them you are out of the room. This is really annoying. The location is good if you are looking to stay in the downtown area.It is a mess down on the strip right now as they are doing construction for the Formula 1 race in November. So staying away was nice. Taxi rides are $$$$!!!

I have stayed here many times and have never been disappointed. The Golden Nugget has always lived up to the class and sophistication that it advertises. You have a huge selection of room choices, restaurant options and a pool area that is the finest on Fremont street. The only complaint I have is that check in could be made to be much faster and more efficient. There is no self directed check-in, so everyone has to go to the front desk and this takes some serious time. Other than that, I have ALWAYS enjoyed my stays here.

Stayed in the Carson Tower. The 2 king beds were more like full beds. There is no coffee or microwave in room. The pool closes around September and may not open until March. They say to call and check. On the upside, it is retro but clean. The chandeliers and decorations are elegant. There are marble tiles and retro carpet. The carpet is clean and in good condition. The pool is outdoor and a shark tank with a tube to slide through it is a main attraction, but you can pay an admission fee to get in. It smells like perfume and smoke when entering the lobby, which is expected of a casino. There is no free airport shuttle. You have to pay for the shuttle.

This wasn't our first trip to Vegas so we knew what to expect downtown. The Nugget was clean, affordable, and well maintained. We stayed in the Carson Tower and didn't have any issues with noise from the street. Checkin was kind if a nightmare, though. There is ALWAYS a long line to check in and there are no digital options to avoid the desk. We spent 45 minutes just waiting in line to check in. I will say the staff was all very kind and efficient. There just didn't seem to be enough space for the number of people wanting to check in. There are security guards that scan your room key before you can get to the elevator banks for each tower. The gentleman at our tower literally had his head leaned back against the wall, and his eyes closed. When we walked up, he said nothing even after we spoke first. He just pointed to the scanner. Seems like on a Friday night, security might be a little more efficient if their head was in the game. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return again. Location can't be beat, and parking was super easy.

Service is great, always attentive and nice. Rooms are pretty standard and clean, no fridges in the Carson tower. Plenty of water bottles and I have heard room service will bring you more if you ask.The check in was pretty crowded when we arrived, but we were moved to another desk down the way to alleviate the traffic, that was pretty nice. The rep that helped us at the front desk was having a birthday, and enthusiastically gave us suggestions on the strip for our kiddo. Overall loved the service, rooms were standard. 8/10 would stay again.

We come to Vegas often and lately we've always stayed downtown and always stayed at the Golden Nugget. We love this hotel. Lots of different kinds of room options, good food choices, and really nice pool area. Right on Fremont Street. Easy to get to other casinos without having to walk miles like you do out on the strip. It's definitely a party atmosphere downtown. In the past we've always stayed in the Carson Towers because those are the cheapest rooms, but this time we decided to upgrade to the Rush Tower. We will probably stay in the Rush Tower for now on. Although Carson is okay, we like the Rush rooms a bit better and there are refrigerators and coffee makers in the rooms.Carson Tower is further from Fremont Street so quieter. But we were able to get a room in the Rush Tower on the strip side away from Fremont Street. Be sure to specify that you want a quiet room, especially if you opt for the Gold Tower which is the "middle" option in terms of price.Overall we really recommend the Golden Nugget.

As I discovered, the Golden Nugget is a Las Vegas historical fixture! It's a nice, traditional hotel. It's not modern and glitzy but it's classic in its design. Our room in the Rush tower was newly remodeled and quite nice. It was very clean and well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The conference center was nice as well. Lots of various size conference rooms. Kudos to Robert, the IT guru who prevented a technological disaster during our presentation to the Women Marines Association. There's a good variety of restaurants inside the hotel. Actually, enough to not have to leave the property if undesired. Lastly, the pool is the coolest I've ever seen in a hotel! There's a giant shark tank in the middle of it with a water slide going through the tank! Awesome 😎

I highly don't recommend the downtown area but if you are going to do it this would be a good hotel. Really great customer service at the front desk. The room was nice. Although there was road construction from 1:00 to 2:00 a.m. with a jackhammer. The bed is really comfortable. The housekeeping was super nice. The surrounding areas outside the hotel are not real kid friendly and it's pretty dirty. However this location is convenient if you want to be in the downtown area.

I had a blast in the Golden Nugget casino floor. The place was buzzing with energy and excitement, and I felt like I was in the heart of Vegas. The casino had a great variety of games, from slots and video poker to table games and live poker. I enjoyed playing roulette and craps, and I even won some money. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the drinks were flowing. The casino was crowded, but that added to the fun vibe and the thrill of gambling. I loved the atmosphere and the entertainment, and I can't wait to go back. The Golden Nugget is one of my favorite casinos in Vegas. 😊

I enjoyed my stay here because 1. The rooms are clean 2. It smells good when you walk in from outside and 3. Not just anyone can use the elevators. You need to have a room key. I feel a little on the fence about the pool area. It's definitely beautiful and a must see if you stay here, but it's way to small and can't accommodate the hotel guests. The bar is pretty tucked away and the drinks are minimal. It's hard to enjoy a drunk in the pool without getting pool water in it because the kids are playing splashing games.Overall the staff was friendly except for 1 lady (didn't catch her name) when we were first checking in. My sister and I walked up to her after the people before us walked away and she rudely said ( I'm not ready for you yet!) in an irritated tone. It just sucked that being our first interaction with a staff member .

I visited the nugget the last few years for the Grand Poker Series the last few years. They have great mid stakes mixed games. Definitely seems like one of the better places to stay on Fremont. Especially if you like poker, it’s the only place downtown that has a poker room and they’re notorious for their uncapped 1/2 game where 100 bills play on the table. The hotel was decent, I stayed in the older tower. It’s great that it was away from the noise on freemont st at night but there was constantly issues with the doors not closing all the way.I wasn’t very impressed with any of the restaurants, the only one I didn’t try was Vic and Anthony’s but maybe I’ll give it a go next year. There are plenty of good places to walk to.Tables on the floor are lower limit compared to the strip which is nice. The pool is great to visit during the day. It has the cool shark tank with the water slide. Definitely not the cleanest pool though when it’s crowded (like all the other Vegas pools)Great access to Fremont.Overall a place worth visiting and staying if you’re headed downtown, but there are other suitable options as well. Definitely worth hitting it you’re into poker.

The room was nice. Zero amenities in the room. It's just a basic room. Price is alright, but they get you on the Resort Fees, which is almost the price of the room per night. No maid service during your stay either. Other than that, everything was fine.

Stayed here numerous times and while it's a great location and one of the better pools and amenities. I booked 6 months in advance directly through website where we were going to have potential 3 adults and I chose "hotel chooses bed" thinking we'd guarantee 2 beds, but in fact were only given one king. When I spoke to a manager I asked if we would get a roller bed of sorts, but that's an additional $50/night. I asked politely for 2 beds instead of 1 king and they kept saying "the system assigns based on on front of house" and said if I wanted 2 beds it'd be $50/night extra. So they made it seem as if the hotel was fully booked, but definitely could make the change to charge me over $200 to get the extra bed. Just be careful if you reserve for 3 or 4 adults as you're liable to get just 1 bed, I even asked the manager if that's what they expect for everybody to fit in 1 bed and she said "yes".

We were in a standard room in the gold tower and were surprised at how spacious the room was. The bathroom was small though. Good location, middle of casino floor. Outlets in lamps were so loose our cords fell out and had to use wall outlets to charge phones. Housekeeping was great. Brought us more water, toilet paper and towels when requested pretty promptly. Room service food was really good. All staff very friendly. We had no view on 3rd floor. Our window was frosted and you couldn't open it. It was quiet though.

Golden Nugget Las Vegas - A 5-Star ExperienceI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas, and I must say it exceeded every expectation. The level of service and attention to detail truly set this establishment apart. From the moment I entered, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism. The staff's dedication to ensuring a seamless experience was evident throughout my stay. The room was not only impeccably clean but also beautifully appointed, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of activities. The amenities offered were impressive, ranging from a vibrant casino to exquisite dining options. The dining experience was exceptional, offering a diverse selection to suit various palates. The culinary expertise showcased a commitment to quality. The Golden Nugget's location is also noteworthy. Situated in the heart of downtown Las Vegas, it provides convenient access to various attractions and entertainment options. In conclusion, my stay at the Golden Nugget was nothing short of outstanding. The combination of exceptional service, luxurious accommodations, and prime location make it a top-notch choice for any traveler.

We've stayed at the Nugget several times during our annual trips to Vegas. The staff is great and accommodating. That said, the reservations system leaves much to be desired. We requested five rooms on the same floor, with two adjoining, months in advance. There was no indication that might be a problem, other than saying adjoining rooms weren't guaranteed, but every effort would be made. When we checked in, we were told none of that was possible. No one called to ask about alternative room configuration or towers. In addition, my roommate's credit card was charged instead of mine, despite going to the desk during her checkout to confirm my CC number. After departure, when charges appeared on the wrong card, I called three times, on three different days. When I mentioned on the third call that I had left two messages with no result, the reservations person said she'd try to reach someone at the hotel. That was also unsuccessful. The on site staff is working hard to make guests happy, but it seems the reservations and accounting staff really can't be bothered with customer service.I'll be exploring other options next year.

First time staying here, and I wasn't entirely disappointed. I wish it wasn't raining, so I could have enjoyed the shark pool, but we will be back! My only complaint is the beds are not very comfortable, we didn't sleep well. But it was super bowl weekend and the price was right. Rooms were clean. Elevator isn't right next to the table so you don't have to get out of the elevator to cigarette smoke.

First time staying here and although this is one of the older hotels on the classic strip, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The rooms have some upgrades in the bathrooms which add a nice touch. Overall, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. One of the things I liked most was the pool with the sharks. We didn't get in because it was very crowded. But that was to be expected for spring break. The hotel is close to everything or has what you need inside. We will definitely stay here when we bring the kids.

I have stayed multiple times in here. The location is perfect since it is in the heart of Fremont. This last time I was assigned a very old room I would say, it was for handicap probably. The sink was not fancy at all, in fact you can tell it was old. The sink would leak water from underneath when on. I mean, not a big deal as the room was only 40 dollars for the night. I must say, in the past I have been upgraded upon my arrival and I got better rooms. More upgraded and bigger. The pool is probably one of the best ones if not the best one around due to its giant aquarium which makes it perfect for families with kids to enjoy. I never had problems with the staff, they're usually friendly and helpful. I hope this helps. I would recommend to stay here.

Got upgraded to gold tower with pool view. Fridge and kurig coffee maker. ☕️ No resort fees! This place is definitely worth the $67 for 3 nights stay! Dee at check-in was awesome! We usually stay on the strip but times are tough and we decided to scale back to get more bang for our buck.

Nice hotel on Fremont st. It’s in a great location and it’s clean. The pool is amazing and there is plenty of late night food in the hotel or very close by. The bed is comfortable and they were very responsive when I called down for towels and more water. The front desk is very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.

I had a pretty good time. My only complaint is our room wasn’t super clean. We aren’t super picky though… our bed was clean and that’s what matters more lol. location is good, however I did not enjoy gambling here… I got a lot more comped drinks at the D & circa, and had a better time at those locations. I would stay here again though.

My husband and I were stuck on the freeway which was backed up for miles, so we decided to jump off downtown to get some breakfast at the Golden Nugget. It has been years since we went there and it was quite an “Old Vegas Style” treat. We went to the Claim Jumper and the food and service were good. The Hotel was still charming and we completely forgot about the shark tanks and the slide tube that runs through it and drops you into the swimming pool. So cool! The nice thing about the pool area is that it is on the center of the hotel surrounded by the building. You will only have direct sunlight overhead for a limited time and be shaded the rest of the day. So if you explode in direct sun as we do with our fair skin this is a perfect place to hang out. There is a bar and lots of Chairs and seating available - and sharks. Don’t forget the sharks. Lol. Had a great time and enjoyed the food. Stayed there long enough for the freeway to clear then headed home.

Well renovated with comfortable and spacious suites. The Rush Tower is the better choice if one doesn't want to party all night long (or listen to the party).A good amount of restaurants and bars to pick from but also directly on Fremont with lots of other options. The Pool area and the water slide that's letting you slide "through" the huge fish tank is amazing. The spa is cozy and the massage package was well worth it.The casino floors are spacious and not cramped. Countless slot machines and plenty of live tables for Poker, Black Jack, Craps, Roulette,..The only issue as non smokers was the air. Compared to the super high ceiling casinos on the strip, air quality is poor.

I love classic Vegas and was looking forward to staying here. Unfortunately, they don't tell you it's a 50/50 chance your room will be facing the Fremont Experience. There are several live stages that have cover bands blasting until 2am. Not an exaggeration. I heard Guns and Roses every night until 2am. The Nugget will not mention the issue when you check in, because they know everyone would ask to move or many might cancel. Instead they throw cheap earplugs in your room that say "Enjoy a quiet nights sleep." Earplugs don't black the booming base in your body. And no way you can't hear the music with them. Front desk refused to make any accommodation saying it's part of being in "The Entertainment District." Like visitors should just know this without being told. Instead of moving me, even on a Sunday when I'm sure plenty of rooms opened up, they only offered to upgrade me for $60. You might think they would wave the fee as a make good on my two previous miserable nights. Nope, they don't wave any fees. Like the $15 dollar fee to move my check out from 11am to noon. They nickle and dime the hell out of you. No housekeeping all 4 days we were there. Garbage cans had to be left outside and then I had no garbage cans.If you sleep like a log or get lucky with a room facing the strip you might be fine, but I will never stay here.
