Charles Blackwell Charles R. Blackwell, 78, Clarksville, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral was Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory with Burnay Baggett officiating. Burial was in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Nashville. He was born Nov.
9, 1925, in Clarksville, son of William R. and Anna Idell Plummer Blackwell. Mr. Blackwell served in the U.S. Navy and was a civil servant at Fort Campbell.
He was a former member of the Montgomery County Election Commission and a former member of the Tri-County Solid Waste Board. He was a member of Madison Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Anita Shepherd Blackwell; two daughters, Connie Hardin, Nashville, and Mary Dell Baggett, St. Charles, Mo; two sisters, Jo Anne Oxford and Lucy Locklear, both of Dalton, and a grandchild. Pallbearers were David Lee, Austin Peay, Roger Maness, Frank Shepherd, Johnny Oxford, Lloyd Bryson, Norman Blackwell and Dennis Locklear.
Evie Harrison Evie Gibbs Harrison, 93, Clarksville, died Thursday, March Woman By LAUREN HOWARD The Leaf-Chronicle 1 Clarksville police are investigating a Crossland Avenue robbery reported early Thursday morning. Two armed suspects broke into a home in the 300 block of Crossland Avenue and robbed a woman, said police spokesman Lt. Geno Grubbs. The woman escaped and called police, he said. A report on the incident was not available Thursday.
Car burglarized on International Boulevard 2. An employee in the 700 block of International Boulevard discovhis car had been burglarized the parking lot of his workplace Monday. Thieves broke a passenger-side window, according to a report by Deputy Stephen Heise. Stereo equipment and compact discs, worth about $1,500, were stolen. Tools stolen from new house on Highway 48 3.
A newly constructed house in the 5400 block of state Highway 48 was burglarized between Sunday and Tuesday, Reporting Deputy Wayne Harrison indicated several tools were taken from the structure.
