Autism Society of NC — Clinical Department

The Clinical Services Department is in the unique position to offer autism-specific consultation, coaching, and workshops based on the department team’s collective expertise in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder throughout the lifespan. Under the guidance of Licensed Clinical Psychologist Dr. Aleck Myers the team is composed of Licensed Psychological Associates, Board Certified Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians.

Clinical services and workshops are available to parents, caregivers, professionals, teachers, school staff, and other community members. Services and areas of expertise include:

Provides consultation & tutoring for children with Autism and Autism related disorders. Creative Consultants offers in-home and clinic-based services. Their clinic is designed to increase motivation for learning and provide a language enriched environment.

Developmental Evaluation Center (DEC)

Assesses children from birth to five years old for developmental delays or disabilities at no charge.

Provides one-on-one instruction to children with autism. Mariposa works with speech and language, occupational, behavioral and educational therapists to tailor and oversee each student’s program.

Offers behaviorally based, early intervention program for preschool children with autism

Provides services for parents and teachers, as well as an early childhood mental health program within the Wake County Public School System for children from birth through completion of kindergarten.

Facilitates special education services for children with special needs.
